ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Last night was a big night for four of our swimmers on the Varsity Boys’ Team. Pace had a few open lanes in a few events in their meet with Heritage, and they allowed us the opportunity for another chance to qualify, better our times, or break records in an official meet. Michael Hughes, who was actually there as a “rabbit” to pace Sean Frendt not only helped Sean achieve his best time in the 50 free (23.87), but also broke the school record in the same event (previously held by Matt Gurbacki from 2003) with a 21.77, and he swam 49.54, a personal best, in the 100 free. John Toll replaced Scott Lenyk’s old record from 1999 in the 500 free with a 4:56.65, and he bettered his own record in the 200 free with a 1:47.82. Keith Ciccotello swam with Frendt, Hughes, and Toll in two of his personal best times to qualify for State cuts in both the 200 and the 400 free relays. With the swims last night, the Spartan boys have moved up in the ranks for State. “T” minus 2 weeks will tell the tale! Congratulations, guys.
