Boys win first round region game.

Congratulations to our Boys’ Basketball team:  The Spartans “pounded” Providence last night in the opening round of the 8AA region tourney.  Leading at the end of each quarter, the final was GACS 81 and Providence 63!  Wade Weldon led all scorers with 30 points.  Reece Wiedeman followed with 23 points and Taylor Wood added 12.  Both Reece and Taylor had 10 rebounds giving them a “double double” for the evening.  Brett Johnson led the guys from the foul line converting 7 of 8 and Brock Bennett had 7 assists to pace the Spartans.  Round two of the tourney will have the Spartans playing Lumpkin County on Thursday at Buford starting at 8:30.  Please come cheer the guys on as they make their final season run!
