GAC girls basketball

The Lady Spartan basketball team defeated Oglethorpe County 75-41 last Saturday night in the first round of the state play-offs.  D’Nay Daniels led the Lady Spartans in scoring with 17, Julio Stephens had 16, and Courtney Samuels had 13.  Kiara Swanier had 10 rebounds 7 assists and 5 steals and Courtney Samuels also added 5 assists.  Several Lady Spartans had big rebounding nights.  Mollie Mitchell had six rebounds and Lisa Warren, Courtney Samuels, D’Nay Daniels, all had 5 each.  Sally Caroll and Kiara Swanier had 9 points apiece to support the attack.

The varsity girls’ basketball team will play Pace Academy at Mt. Zion- Jonesboro Thursday afternoon at 4:00.  They will need to be dismissed at 1:30. 

D’Nay Daniels was honored by the Atlanta Tip-Off Club Monday night at their monthly banquet.  She was selected to the Metro Team of the Month.  D’Nay is averaging over 15 points and 8 rebounds per game.
